FLOODED !
30 x 40 ins, mixed media on canvas. Completed September 1, 2010. Over the past weeks, large areas of Pakistan have been completely devastated by its worst flooding in generations and millions of people are affected. Climate change is to blame and we are eventually responsible. It's a global humanitarian crisis and no matter what you read or feel about Pakistan and its politics, the fact is that mothers, fathers and children like you and I are "drowning" and we must throw them a life-line now. A group of dedicated McGill students have rallied together to do just that. Please click on the website below the painting to read the poem CARING, DARING.

I see you are doing something to help the victims of the flood. A touching poem, it made me cry! And the painting is quite haunting. Especially the eyes of the people and the river of heads. There is so much to mourn in this world, and you manage to do so in such a hopeful way.

Your poem is truly beautiful. Thank you. Your painting was perfect as well, and both convey heartfelt compassion in the face of a terrible situation. Thank you for putting these works of art out into the universe. I am sure they will reverberate with many people and make a positive difference...
