MAAJI
24 x 24 ins. Mixed medium. August 1, 2012. With the arrival of my granddaughter, plus a recent spate of family and friends adopting or having babies, this painting evolved almost seamlessly. "Maaji" is Hindi for Mummy though the blue woman is universal. The wind carries falling maple leaves across the canvas to signify the eternal passing of time .

The image will be the front cover of a new Demeter Press publication "Stay-at-Home Mothers - Dialogues & Debates"
