Malala's Dream - See the new 2015 movie
While the tragic news of Malala struck a chord and propelled me to create Malalas Dream in 2012, the painting and the story, I am aware that the education of young girls is still not a priority in many parts of the globe. Female fetuses are being aborted daily and not just in the developing world. Women are marginalized under a variety of pretexts and continue daily to undergo the humiliation of rape. Until we, the world wakes up to this reality, we will continue to bury our heads in the sand and support a culture of ignorance and laissez-faire.
My hope is that my art will play a role in lifting peoples spirits, challenging their assumptions, provoking thought and thus promote dialogue between peoples towards peace. Join me in supporting womens rights in your own neighborhood which no longer is your own, but now encompasses a much larger universe and help keep Malalas dream alive.
