RESOLUTIONS 2013
30 x 40 ins, acrylic. June 15, 2013. From June 6 - 10th, I attended the AGM of the National Council of Women of Canada in Vancouver as Convenor of Culture & Heritage. I had a feeling that the experience would eventually become a painting because of the high energy level which started with a spectacular view of the snow-capped Rockies as my plane landed. We voted on Resolutions that will be sent to the Canadian government appealing for better conditions for women, children and families. Painted spontaneously, the 3 women represent from right to left (not in geographical order) the yellow Prairie & Alberta wheatland, the lush green of B.C. in the center & the multi-colors & complexities of eastern Canada which of course include Ontario, Quebec & the Maritimes. The painting is peppered with writing as there was plenty of reading & writing involved, among other things.... which included warm BC hospitality. Merci !
