Wishing, Hoping
20x24 ins, acrylic, January 21, 2016. A new year unfolding is always an emotional time. I fling myself back into the past as conflicting memories rise to the surface. Painting becomes a difficult task in January and so I leave my brushes aside and read through my stack of books from the Atwater Library. In between, I watch turbulent images on television. Finally this painting appears and I see that Ganesh, whose task in the divine scheme of things is to be the "remover of obstacles" has a prominent role, both on canvas and in all our lives.
