Morning Reflection
20 x 24 ins, acrylic. February 24, 2015. As I sit and look out on to a frigid landscape complete with playful icicles and steam rising from the St. Lawrence river, this image surfaces from the blank canvas, forcing brighter days ahead. An image that heralds spring, a bird sweetly beckoning at my window, meditative candles, the air heavy with the perfume of flowers. Despite the daily intricacies we each have to endure and there seem to be many swirling around us these days, life IS indeed precious and beautiful.

"The tenderness of flowers arouses mercy, compassion and understanding. If that beauty is delicate, so much the better. Life itself is fleeting. We must take the time to appreciate beauty in the midst of temporality. By offering flowers, we offer purity." - Deng Ming-Dao, 365 Tao
