CRY FOR HELP
14 x 18 - acrylic on canvas. March 19, 2006. Years after the bombings of 2002, the women of Afghanistan still cry out to the world for help. The child looking outwards senses that peace is still a long way off. I was offered another interpretation: that the women are joyously singing while spinning the globe keeping it fertile for their children. They know that peace will come if we look after our planet.
