HEALING CLOAK
16 x 20 ins, acrylic. January 7, 2012. A bluebird in winter is indeed a magical thing. The barefoot woman in the softly falling snow signals renewal, fearlessness, courage, hope, persistence, beauty and resilience.

The painting is on the McGill 2013 S.E.D.E calendar. You will see it shortly on the cover of FEZANA (Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America)to accompany the essay I wrote "Discovering my sacred space - a cancer odyssey"

It touches me to receive such meaningful comments about this work. May it continue to nourish your soul and fill you with hope for a beautiful tomorrow.

"Winter always turns into spring" - Nichiren (13th century Buddhist monk)

It is no surprise to me that McGill has shown excellent taste, and spirit of these times, by choosing this image for their card! Congratulations!

Cheryl - all of the feelings you attribute to this painting surround me when I look at it. It is lovely, and I just ordered a print for my sister (a healer if there ever was one!).

What a beautiful painting. I'm not used to white in your work. It remarkably brings out those characteristic Braganza colors and textures. The face is so soft and so soulful. And I love how the graceful sway of her flowing cloak cups below the belly of the dove. Just so beautiful. So peaceful.

The painting reflects the description with gentle strength: a rebirth to a more profound life unthreatened by the dangers faced when we do not yet know what it means to truly live.

Beautiful & tranquil . You must be in a good place in your heart, in spite of what you are undergoing. Such serenity in the blues c/w the softness of winter snow. The curves of your tunic flow in a loop to the bluebird, a strong generous colourful joyful bird. Peaceful & gentle, two as one. xxoo
